Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last Updated: 21 September 2026

HeartLib provides subscription-based access to its Relationship Intelligence, compatibility, relationship insights and related platform features.

HeartLib is primarily a Relationship Intelligence platform. It provides insights into compatibility, relationship dynamics, strengths, challenges and how interpersonal dynamics may develop over time. The platform may also provide compatibility discovery and matchmaking functionality.

HeartLib does not provide escort services, sexual services, adult entertainment, prostitution, mail-order bride services or peer-to-peer payments.

This policy applies to HeartLib customers in HeartLib's supported service markets, subject to any mandatory consumer rights applicable in the customer's jurisdiction.

Subscription Cancellation

Users may cancel their HeartLib subscription at any time.

Unless otherwise stated for a particular plan, cancellation takes effect at the end of the user's current paid billing period.

After cancellation:

  • no further renewal charge will be made for that subscription;
  • the user may continue accessing paid features until the end of the period already paid for, unless the account is otherwise suspended or terminated in accordance with the Terms; and
  • cancellation does not ordinarily result in a prorated refund for the unused portion of an already-started billing period.

How to cancel in HeartLib

For Stripe web subscriptions, sign in to HeartLib, open Subscription Management from the app's billing/subscription area, then choose “Schedule Cancellation” in the Cancel Subscription section. HeartLib then records the cancellation request and keeps paid access active until the end of the current billing period.

For subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store, cancellation is managed by Apple in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Automatic Renewal

HeartLib subscriptions automatically renew at the applicable monthly or annual billing interval unless cancelled before the next renewal date.

The applicable subscription price and billing frequency are displayed before purchase.

Cancelling before the next renewal prevents the next recurring subscription charge.

Free Trials

HeartLib's current Stripe checkout configuration provides a 7-day free trial for the Basic Monthly and Premium Monthly plans only.

Discover plans and annual plans do not currently include a Stripe free-trial period in the active checkout configuration.

If a free trial is selected, the subscription converts to a paid subscription after the trial unless cancelled before the trial expires. The first charge occurs after the 7-day trial ends. Cancelling before the trial expires prevents the first subscription charge.

Refund Eligibility

HeartLib does not ordinarily provide refunds simply because a customer changes their mind after purchasing a subscription or because they did not fully use the service during a paid subscription period.

However, HeartLib may provide a full or partial refund where appropriate, including:

  1. a duplicate charge;
  2. an incorrect billing amount;
  3. an unauthorized transaction, subject to investigation;
  4. the customer was charged after properly cancelling before the applicable renewal;
  5. HeartLib materially failed to provide the purchased service;
  6. a material technical problem attributable to HeartLib prevented reasonable use of the purchased service and could not be resolved within a reasonable period;
  7. HeartLib determines that a refund is appropriate based on the circumstances; or
  8. a refund, cancellation or other remedy is required by applicable consumer law.

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer-protection legislation, including the Australian Consumer Law where applicable.

Refund Request Timeline and Review

Customers should contact HeartLib as soon as possible after identifying a billing problem.

For ordinary refund requests, customers are encouraged to submit their request within 14 days of the relevant charge. The 14-day administrative request period does not limit any statutory rights or remedies that may apply under applicable consumer law.

HeartLib will review refund requests based on the reason for the request, transaction records, subscription and cancellation records, use of the service where relevant, technical/service records where relevant, and applicable consumer law.

HeartLib may request reasonable information necessary to investigate the transaction.

Approved Refunds

Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method wherever practicable.

HeartLib will normally initiate an approved refund within 5–10 business days following approval.

The customer's bank, card issuer or payment provider may require additional processing time before the refund appears in the customer's account. HeartLib does not promise a settlement date controlled by a bank or payment provider.
